Fully Insured - Fully Permitted

There are many folks out there in business using their private automobiles for transporting people to the airport. This can be very dangerous to you the rider, and you should consider a few things before you schedule a ride.

1. Do they carry the proper insurance required to carry people for a fare? If so, they should be happy to display a copy of their commercial insurance policy with proper dates clearly shown.

Without this insurance, if an accident occurs, the insurance company would deny any claims you may have due to the fact that they were operating commercially, without coverage to do so.

2. Are they permitted and security cleared to legally enter the airport caring passengers.

If so, they will have the proper D.O.T numbers clearly displayed on both sides of their vehicle, and they will be wearing an I.D. card, and display a Drivers Permit authorized by the Airport.

Airport Security looks for familiar vehicles entering and leaving the facility on a frequent basis. When caught, they are expelled from the airport, and other consequences will occur.

3. Are they D.O.T. certified?

If so, they have successfully completed their medical exams, Safety course, background check, and are subject to random drug tests.
